Portable Stages and Risers

Public events are an important part of society because they provide economic revenue and entertainment for many communities. A public event can take place anytime of the year and it can be given in an indoor or outside location. Portable stages and risers are the perfect constructs for public events that require flexibility, ease of set-up and that must appear in a temporary location.
Many public performances are given in areas where a permanent stage isn’t available. Stage and stand equipment must be hauled to the location in order to make these particular areas practical for public performances. Some locations where moveable entertainment stages are used for events include blocked off city streets, parking lots, beaches and open fields.
The different types of mobile stages that could be used for these performances will vary by the type of event that is being sponsored. Public events that showcase musical bands or solo acts, could use a single stage. Events that present a choir or a large ensemble could use multi tiered staging that would highlight this type of performance.
Portable stages and risers also have unique designs which could add a special touch to a performance. Some mobile stages are designed like horseshoes and other can be fitted together to look like a set of huge stairs. Some manufacturers even offer a wing or arc design.
Another thing that makes these types of stages practical for public events is that they usually require little effort to set-up before a performance or to take down once the show is over. Experienced crews could put up a mobile stage within a relatively short amount of time and pack it away for another performance within the same day.
Manufacturers typically design most mobile stages to be constructed with little or no effort. Many stages have foldable legs that are similar to those used for card tables or folding chairs. The big difference is that mobile stages have foldable parts that are specifically designed to hold or to contain large amounts of weight. There are moveable stages that require a crew to drill the support parts into place in order to provide stability.
When a group or individual sponsors a public event they must ensure the safety of the guest in attendance. Many mobile stage manufacturers offer safety railing and guards that can be attached to the portable stages and risers where people are sitting. Safety railings offer extra security, especially for events where children or the elderly will be in attendance.
Moveable stages usually have stage caddy’s that make it easier for crews to transport and store away equipment. With this piece of equipment, set up crews will not have to unload and set up the equipment by hand. Step units are another type of useful feature for mobile stages. Step units can be attached to the stage once it has been completed and some are even adjustable. Other accessories include background skirting, acoustic shells, portable stage curtains and canopies. Some even have the ability to support light fixtures and special effects. Mobile stage equipment and moveable risers are sold by stage manufacturing and some musical supply companies.
